Apprentice Home
Our apprentice school is located directly behind the Union Hall at 6153 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge, LA. The apprenticeship is a three year curriculum. Students will attend class from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday and Wednesday night. There are two semesters per year or six semesters for the three year duration.
FIRST YEAR STUDENTS - 225 class hours must be earned in order to move to the next year.
SECOND YEAR STUDENTS - 225 class hours must be earned in order to move to the next year.
THIRD YEAR STUDENTS - 225 class hours must be earned in order to graduate.
Requirements for Students
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Good Transportation
- Pass Entrance Exam
- Must be physically able to perform the work required such as:
- Wearing safety belt with tools weighing 25-35 pounds
- Carrying loads of 50 pounds
- Walking, climbing, lifting, bending, and reaching for an 8 hour day
