Apprenticeship Qualifications

Our apprentice school is located directly behind the Union Hall at 6153 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge, LA. The apprenticeship is a three year curriculum. Students will attend class from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday and Wednesday night. There are two semesters per year or six semesters for the three year duration.

FIRST YEAR STUDENTS -  206 class hours must be earned in order to move to the next year.
SECOND YEAR STUDENTS -  204 class hours must be earned in order to move to the next year.
THIRD YEAR STUDENTS -  204 class hours must be earned in order to graduate.


REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS
(1) 18 years of age
(2) High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
(3) Good Transportation
(4) Pass Entrance Exam
(5) Must be physically able to perform the work required such as:
(a) Wearing safety belt with tools weighing 25-35 pounds
(b) Carrying loads of 50 pounds
(c) Walking, climbing, lifting, bending, and reaching for an 8 hour day
